fever brings me
farther from reality
i ascend
higher than the heavens
leaving behind
worldly possessions
and cutting connections
to earth
because now
I am sky.
I am god and
i am void
I am cloud
I am death
I am life
I am fear
I am ethereal
and I am infinite.
insecurities become irrelevant
body unimportant
I am above suffering.
I watch from a void, vast and
infinite
watching love and death
What a wonderful dream.
And the world stops;
the clouds shatter
and my surroundings
distort into faces
into hues
unseeable by eyes
my body contorts
and I lose my footing on reality.
instead,
i wake up to
the world that my body lives in.
sometimes it seems
as though
I've left my soul
in my void.
