The streets of Mondstadt were bustling this evening as a cool breeze blew through the city, carrying with it the scent of freshly baked bread and flowers. The sun was beginning to set, casting a soft golden glow over the city and creating shadows that danced across the cobblestone streets.

In the distance, the bell tower of the city's cathedral tolled, the sound echoing through the air and lending a sense of grandeur to the otherwise quiet scene. Among the crowds of people making their way up and down the streets was a tall figure in blue and white attire, with long, blue hair that blew in the breeze.

This was Kaeya, a man who seemed to always have a smile on his face, even in the midst of the chaos that surrounded him. He was a man who was both kind and mysterious, and it seemed that everyone who met him was drawn to his charm and charisma.

As Kaeya walked, he greeted the people he passed with a warm smile and a nod, making sure to take the time to chat with those who stopped to talk. It was clear that he was well-liked in the community, and the smiles on the faces of those who surrounded him spoke volumes about his popularity.

Despite the crowd, Kaeya seemed at ease, moving with the flow of the people as if he was one with the city itself. It was a sight to behold, and one that served as a reminder of the beauty that existed in the everyday moments of life.

Kaeya had always been a man who kept his personal life to himself. He had never been one to trust easily, and he had never let anyone get too close. But things changed when he met Childe.

For Childe, it was love at first sight. He was drawn to Kaeya's charm and charisma, the way he moved with a kind of effortless grace that Childe found utterly captivating. And for Kaeya, it was something he had never experienced before - a feeling of being seen, of being wanted, of being loved. Or was this truly the case..?

They met unexpectedly, in a market in Mondstadt. Childe had been browsing the stalls for weapons and armor, while Kaeya was searching for rare spices and herbs. And when their eyes met, it was as if time stood still.

Of course this wasn't the first time the pair met. Their first meeting resided within Angel's Share. Kaeya, drinking and rambling constant nonsense to the obviously annoyed redhead, Diluc. Kaeya wasn't aware of the Fatui man watching him from the corner of the tavern. Childe found an interest in the man, watching his every move and genuinely listening to the words he spoke. With a wide grin, Childe made a mental note to talk to Kaeya, if they were to meet in the near future. He knew their paths were destined to cross again.

"You're.. an awfully attractive guy," Childe said, his voice low and husky.

"You're quite the charmer," Kaeya replied, his smile warm and genuine.

And from that moment on, they were inseparable. They spent every moment together, sharing stories, exploring the world around them. They loved each other fiercely, in a way that had the power to move mountains.

Their love was a deep and abiding thing, a love that grew stronger with each passing day. And as they stood in each other's arms, they knew that they had found something special - something rare and beautiful, a love that would endure through the ages.

Love is a dangerous word, isn't it?..

Kaeya was a master of deception, and he was able to hide his true intentions from Childe. He was able to mask his true feelings, and act like he loved Childe more than anything else in the world.
But at the same time, he was using Childe for his own purposes - using Childe as an asset, rather than a partner. He was always planning and plotting, always thinking about how he could use Childe to further his own goals.

Kaeya's love for Childe was intense and all-consuming, but at its heart it was a lie. Kaeya had only pursued Childe in order to get close to him for his mission - a mission that was much bigger than their relationship.

Kaeya was a spy, and his job was to gather information on the Fatui and their activities in Mondstadt. When he met Childe, he immediately recognized that he was the perfect target - a foreign aristocrat who was new to the city and had connections to the Fatui.

Kaeya knew that Childe was vulnerable and naive - the perfect mark for his mission. And so, he pursued him relentlessly, using his charm and charisma to win him over.

At first, Kaeya thought that his feelings for Childe were real - that he had truly fallen in love with him. But as time passed, he realized that the real reason for his pursuit was his mission - and he knew that he had to choose between Childe and his duty.

And so, despite his feelings for Childe, Kaeya made a decision that would cost him everything. He betrayed Childe in the worst way possible - by using him as a means to an end.

••••••••••

Kaeya stood before Childe, his heart heavy with the weight of what had happened. This was a complete change in his plans. He had not expected this sudden occurrence. His lover, the one he used for the sake of his mission.. betrayed him first.

"I can't believe you did this," he said, his voice shaking.

Childe looked at him, his expression a mixture of guilt and fury.

"I'm sorry, Kaeya. I didn't mean for it to happen like this," he said, but the words felt hollow.

"You betrayed me," Kaeya said, his eyes filling with tears. "You were my partner, my lover, and my best friend - and you betrayed me."

Childe looked away, unable to meet Kaeya's gaze. "I know," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Kaeya felt his anger rising, and he took a step towards Childe. "How could you do this to me?" he demanded.

Childe looked up, his eyes blazing with a strange mixture of guilt and defiance. "I did what I had to do," he said. "I'm not sorry for that."

Kaeya's anger turned to hurt, and he stumbled back, feeling as if he had been punched in the stomach. "You're not sorry," he repeated, his voice barely above a whisper.

"No, Kaeya," Childe said, his voice rising. "I'm not sorry." Childe spoke, looking away for Kaeya. "Don't act like you didn't betray me first." The ginger said, his words striking Kaeya in the heart. He knew… he knew all along.

And with that, the two of them stood in silence, the weight of their words hanging heavily in the air between them. And as they stood there the ex lovers knew that they had no choice but to let go - and to move on.
