When anime was nonexistent the people who started that hadn't started it yet were watching sponge bob, and said "hey what if we made something like this only a Japanese version!"
They thought it was a great idea but there was only one thing in their way....
....how do they animate it and get people to talk for the characters??
They tried to ask people they knew if they could help them on the animation part and they said that if they could they would...
... So they asked some of their friends' friends but they said "no sorry".
Then they said " well we can put up an ad everywhere to see who can help with that but, who is going to talk for all of the characters in the first show and what are we going to call the new genre????"
After realizing that they didn't need just the animators they set off to find people to talk for the characters and they thought up a name for the new genre...
...After searching for all of the people they had found 25 people to speak for the characters and the name of the new genre was 'anime' it means Japanese animation and that is what "anime" is.
