How Unfair it must Feel

The sultry puckering to a fabled prince
who had all he desired, wine and drinks
and maiden and riches
and hope and ambition
and heirs to his name.

Beloved by those he kept close,
he lived a life humble
that many sought.

But none who known his secrecy
'cept the widow he left behind
to cuckold her
and the four he left forgotten.

And here I sing my woes to preach
the unfairness of this world.

The years had been harsh on the widow
who soon fell from this world.
Taking food from her own mouth,
she fed the four with no woe.

More years past and from the eyes of the third,
he saw the first and second moved away from the widow.
The third who tries to carry the pain
but the fourth would stand still and follow.

The first abandonned post
and found life's most sought comfort.
The second looks up to the fabled prince
and made his naive love open.

The fourth denies all past trauma
and led a life of ignorance.
The third buried in sorrows
and pray that life turns for the better.

The widow, stoic and hardened
carried the four's burden.
Arrested in solitude
and submitted to hardship.

While the fabled prince spent drunken nights
living a life of parties.
Burying the past,
hoping it never upheavel,
and sought peace in his new beginning.
