Inari's POV

As we caught up to Fushiguro and the others, Panda immediately inquired, "Are you guys okay?" Maki followed suit, asking, "Yeah, you good?"

We exchanged quick updates, making sure no one had lost an arm or dignity. "Oh right! Megumi!" I called out, catching Fushiguro's attention.

"Can you help me train something?" I asked, placing my palm on the ground. Fushiguro gave me his usual suspicious glare. "What?"

"Not what, more like who!" I corrected, setting the stage for my next disaster. I chanted, summoning a thick black smoke laced with sinister energy.

"Inari, what the hell is this?" Kugisaki demanded, her voice already bracing for incoming nonsense.

Before anyone could take a step back, the dark energy dispersed, revealing my newest problem—I mean, summon.

A massive dog-like beast materialized, immediately lunging for Inumaki and Maki.

With reflexes sharper than my common sense, I lashed out a chain from my cursed energy, wrapping it around the creature's neck and yanking it back.

"WHAT is that?!" Panda yelled, already calculating the odds of survival.

I tightened my grip, the spiked ends of the chain digging into the beast's hide

I tightened my grip, the spiked ends of the chain digging into the beast's hide. It let out a deep, guttural whine. "Sit down!" I snapped, channeling every ounce of authority I didn't actually have.

To my surprise, it obeyed.

"Umm, who's this?" Kugisaki asked again, because clearly, she was not satisfied with the answer "giant murder puppy."

"My prize for winning the Dark Tournament in the Demon World," I announced smugly, as if I hadn't nearly gotten eaten in the process.

Fushiguro cautiously stepped forward to pat it.

The beast growled, baring its fangs, and he immediately stepped back. "As you can see, we've made a pact, but we still don't get along. He's got... temperament issues."

"He's a wild beast!" Fushiguro corrected with a deadpan look.

"Semantics!" I waved off. "Anyway, can you help tame him? I'd rather not have to threaten his life every time I summon him, or the other way around."

I cautiously stroked the creature's head, only for it to snarl at me. Without missing a beat, I  handed the chain to Fushiguro. "With this on, he can't use cursed energy. You'll be fine. Probably."

The second Fushiguro took the chain, the beast lunged at me, jaws wide, fangs ready to rip.

"Oh, for the love of—again? Really?" With an exasperated sigh, I smacked it across the snout, swatting him away. "This is, what, the hundredth time? Stop already. You can't hurt me. It's embarrassing at this point."
