The chilling voice echoed across all Federation and Earth com frequencies. Screams filled the streets of Earth cities as Drones materialized assimilation had begun
Enterprise. Riker stood horror covering his face as he watched with helplessness as the Borg Vessel now in orbit opened fire on the surface
"We have failed Captain...we barely had time to beam out" Came the voice of Worf as he and Dr Crusher exited onto the bridge. Data took his station while the others continued to stare in disbelief
"The borg vessel is targeting Starfleet installations. SpaceDock is issuing emergency evacuation procedures. Landing facilities are launching shuttles and other spacecraft" Data reported. "Shall we as.." data was cut off by the bridge rocking and with sparks flying overhead and the diming lights data changed his wording
"Borg vessel is opening fire. Targeting the Enterprise and fleeing ships" Data said
"Move us towards the shuttles. Diverte all power to hull integrity. Chief Obrien come in. Prepare to lock onto multiple lifesigns beam as many as we can" Commander Shelby said
"Starfleet HQ is transmitting an emergency distress call Captain. They're warning all inbound ships to flee... the Federation Presidents Evacuation shuttle is fleeing the far side of Earth"
Riker snapped frm his daze and turned to Shelby
"I got 35 survivors Commander" Obrien spoke over coms"
"Hull integrity is falling. We can't take any more hits!" Geordie called from his station as the bridge lurched again
"Get us out of here... set a course...." Riker started.. where did they even go?
"Vulcan max warp. Emergency Procedures starfleet command will relocateto thus system in the event the sol system ever falls " Riker spoke
"Once they've assimilated earth they're gonna keep going " Shelby said
"Vulcan won't be safe for long"
Riker took his seat in the chair. His expression showed that of a broken man and Deanna beside showed concern.
"Will... we tried " she spoke softly.
"The hell we did!. They took Picard. They've taken earth! I should drive this damn ship right into that cube!!" Riker snapped "but they'd probably survive that to...no...no I have a duty I have to think about the ones on board...the survivors trying to escape. Data how many have made iit?" Riker asked
"78 warp capable craft have evacuated earth and spacedock...the borg are moving and have captured or destroyed 65. " Data answered causing a silence
"Borg Vessel is targeting Spacedock. Station shields have failed sir ... Spacedock has gone silent"
Riker let out an exhausted sigh.
"Gerodie work on repairs. Let's hope we reach Vulcan before the Borg do" Riker said
