Born a siphon, Olivia kept her magic when she turned and became the Original Heretic.
Olivia has spent her life looking after her siblings and accumulating power and knowledge with magic. She also owns a fashion house and has dedicated one line to each of her siblings, they joke it's where Elijah gets all his suits from.
She currently lives quite happily in Mystic Falls with her revive youngest brother Henrik as an art teacher at Mystic Falls high. The council did once try to kill her which backfired and they learnt that she was impossible for them to kill so agreed to leave her and her brother be so long as her fangs stay out of the locals: a deal Olivia is happy to abide by as she prefers blood bags over the vein anyway.
Of course the peace eventually has to end with the arrival of Stefan Salvatore and with him, his older brother Damon. All of which spells chaos and baby vampire shenanigans that she claims she is far to old to be dealing with
