Authors Note /
Now that Young Royals has officially come to an end and we're all feeling a little empty, I thought i'd write a Wilmon fic. I'm so happy with the ending, honestly. It was definitely needed. Buckle in guys? the ride isn't over. This fic is based on what happens during summer once they get back together. Vote and comment, I would appreciate it. Going to start with a short chapter to start off with but then the chapters will be long like all my other works :)

"It's getting cold," a soft whisper floated through the crisp evening air. Brown eyes fluttered open and settled onto a pair of soft blue orbs. Simon lolled his head to one side, peering up. A gentle smile played on Wilhelm's lips as he continuously ran a hand through Simon's curly hair. "Shall we head back inside now?"

"Not yet," Simon mumbled tiredly, letting his eyes flutter shut again, trying to get comfortable again on Wilhelm's chest. "A few more minutes."

"Mhm," Wilhelm murmured.

Their warmth enveloped them, shielding them from the chill of the evening as they lay together under the blanket of stars. The soft rustle of leaves and the distant chirping of crickets provided a serene backdrop to their moment of intimacy. Time seemed to stand still as they savored each other's presence, content in the simple joy of being together. The rhythmic crash of waves against the shore serenaded the night, a lullaby to their weary souls. Despite the peeling paint and creaky floorboards, the motel room felt like a sanctuary, a place where they could escape the complexities of life and simply be.

Inside, the worn-out motel room provided a humble refuge from the world outside. The salty scent of the nearby ocean lingered in the air, mingling with the faint aroma of sunscreen and sand. Sara and Felice lounged on the faded floral-patterned bedspread, giggling over old inside jokes.

"Have you spoken to your parents today?" Simon suddenly questioned, peering up at Wilhelm again, his chin resting on his boyfriend's toned chest.

"Mmm," Wille nodded, staring up at the dark sky and the odd few stars that twinkled brightly above. "Mama is doing okay. Better than usual."

"Good," Simon nodded, resting his head on Wille's chest, his eyes closing once more.

As they lay there, Simon's mind drifted to thoughts of his own family, a bittersweet ache tugging at his heart. He missed his mother dearly, but at least he still had Sara with him. Wilhelm was thinking the same thing. The distance between himself and his own family felt like an insurmountable chasm at times, and he longed to be able to hold his mother close once more and reassure her that everything would be alright, but right now, he needed this escape from the family. He needed to be here. With Simon. Alone.

Wilhelm sensed the shift in Simon's mood and tightened his embrace, offering silent comfort and support. They may have been far from home, but in that moment, they were each other's anchor, grounding them amidst the uncertainties of life.

Sara's voice suddenly interrupted their reverie, pulling them back to the dreaded present. "Hey, lovebirds, you coming back inside anytime soon? It's getting chilly out here," she called out.

Simon chuckled softly, lifting his head from Wilhelm's chest to glance at Sara and Felice who were both stood a few meters away, wrapped up in one of the bedsheets. Sara had become so much more comfortable and extroverted recently and Simon loved it. He loved this newer version of his sister. "Yeah, we should probably head in. Wouldn't want to catch a cold," he said to Wille, even though he really didn't want to get up.

With a collective sigh, they reluctantly rose from their cozy spot on the sand, bidding farewell to the tranquil night sky and the sound of the beautiful waves crashing against each other. As they shuffled back into the warmth of their shared motel room, their bond remained unspoken but palpable, a silent promise to always be there for one another, no matter where life took them.

Wille couldn't help but feel at ease for the first time in a long time. Losing Simon not so long ago made him feel like his world was coming to an end. He never wanted to feel that way again. The warmth of the room and each other embraced him like an old friend, chasing away the chill of the evening. Sara and Felice jumped onto their double bed whilst Wilhelm and Simon jumped onto theirs.

"Shall we make some hot chocolate?" Sara asked, already jumping up from her spot and rummaging through their meager provisions in the small kitchenette. The simple act of preparing a warm drink together felt comforting, a small ritual that reminded them of the importance of togetherness in the face of life's challenges.

As they lounged around in the motel room, sipping on their steaming mugs of cocoa, the laughter and chatter flowed effortlessly, weaving a tapestry of shared memories and dreams for the future. In that moment, surrounded by the ones they loved, Simon and Wilhelm knew that no matter what obstacles lay ahead, they would face them together, just like they always did, drawing strength from the unbreakable bonds of friendship and love that bound them. And as they settled in for the night, wrapped in each other's embrace, they drifted off to sleep with a sense of peace and gratitude, knowing that they were exactly where they were meant to be.
