A Dream

A dream,

The reason for the long hours,

The take-out container towers.

Lack of sleep,

Sometimes only a peep.

A dream,

The aches and pains,

Withstanding winds and rains.

Using that last drop of life,

Towards preventing future strife.

A dream,

Going the extra mile,

In order to end the day with a smile.

Pushing more,

Even when dead and sore.

No one said it would be a piece of cake,

Like deciding a craft to make.

Or not take time,

Like writing a never ending rhyme.

Someday your dream will come true,

worth what all you had to do.

And you’ll look back and see,

That life is what you make it to be.
