Daenys Velaryon remained the only daughter of Rhaenyra Targaryen. Born on the third day of the eleventh moon in 114AC, just seven minutes after her twin brother, Jacaerys, Daenys did not stand to inherit the Iron Throne. Her grandfather, the King, went on to name her Princess of Dragonstone, as a means of compensation. She would inherit the ancestral seat of her family, while Jace would sit the throne and rule Westeros from the Red Keep.
She was glad for it. Daenys did not believe herself a truly suitable candidate for the throne ━though being the second in line to inherit it increased that likelihood significantly. Responsibility and expectation crippled most of her childhood, as did the burden of upholding her family in the midst of vile accusations and circulating whispers that she and her brothers shared Strong blood.
