WHO'S AFRAID OF LITTLE OLD ME? (well you should be)
COURTNEY ROSE KAREV was the middle kid, the one who got ignored, the one who wished she had her parents' undivided attention. She had an older brother named Alex, a younger brother named Aaron, and a younger sister named Amber. Her siblings seemed to always occupy their mother, especially after her father left to be an on-the-road musician. The dynamic of the family was strange at times, and Courtney just wanted love from her family, but...she understood that maybe she wouldn't get what she wanted.
Alex got held back in the ninth grade because he skipped so much school to care for their mother, Helen, leaving him to be in the same grade as Courtney for the rest of their high school and college experiences. There were times where they didn't get along because Alex picked on Courtney for every decision she made, but deep down he did care about her. And now that they were both matched at the same surgical residency program, they had to spend more time with each other than they had hoped.
Courtney always seemed to be stuck in Alex's shadow, and was gonna burst at any moment.
