Her sword broke with a jarring snap. The Illager's crossbow was aimed straight at her. Lily's arms burned from swimming for so long.  This would be a nice time to summon my Kindred again.  She gulped in water as she sunk beneath the surface.  It felt like lava in her lungs.  Is this how I die? She wondered a school of cod swirling around her.

The glowing eyes of a drown peered at her from the watery depths.  Lily shuddered as exhaustion seemed to bind her limbs and she felt herself sinking.
Then it happened.  Something was pushing her toward the surface.
My Kindred hasn't forgotten me. Lily kicked her legs and realized she was able - effortlessly to rise.  As she came up, coughing and gasping for air Lily was astonished to find she was once more a Kindred in her natural form - wolf.

Her paws met the dry sand and she collapsed on the beach, trying to catch her breath. I can't wait for these trials to be over so I never have to be my Kindred human again. Lily shook herself and scrambled wobbly onto all fours and looked around at the unfamiliar landscape.

Treetops kissed the cornflower blue sky.  Beyond the jungle trees waterfalls cascaded down the jagged sides of a mountain.  Wait..where is the Pillager Outpost? Lily sniffed the air.

Somehow she realized as sank back onto the sand to catch her breath, she'd been teleported to another part of the realm.  Perhaps the Guardians had made a mistake.
Gosh it feels so good to be back to normal. Lily, her Kindred wolf form stouter than the Kindred human, quickly regenerated after a brief nap.

When she awoke from her nap, Lily was chagrined she had returned to her Kindred girl body

When she awoke from her nap, Lily was chagrined she had returned to her Kindred girl body.  So spindly & fragile. She pressed her hands to her face.  Nightfall. She remembered suddenly standing up that she was weaponless. Checking her inventory Lily was relieved that she had some mutton. Just need to build a furnace to cook it.  But first. Lily walked toward the High Ground, following her instincts.
