Elle thought she had seen the worst of people when the world was still... alive. But after everything turned upside down and flesh-eating monsters began terrorizing the world she once knew, she learned that the monstrosity of humans comes out when they're lives are at stake. The villains weren't the reanimated corpses roaming the Earth, it was their counterpart. And Elle had tried her best not to become a villain like the rest of them.
Having been on her own since the very beginning, Elle had set out to find her brother while also doing every thing in her power to stay alive. Numbing herself to the horrors surrounding her, she persisted across the state of Virginia in hopes of finding solace. Yet she was met with nothing but violence. And after having a run-in with a group of violent men who saw her as nothing but an object to claim, Elle realized one very sinister thing.
The world was cruel. But if Elle wanted to survive, she had to be worse.

author's note. its true, folks. my beloved rick grimes fanfiction is back! i have missed rick and elle. so. much. and i have been holding back republishing this book for months. i just love elouise may taylor so dearly i couldn't let her go. and this will be a slow burn. elle has so much to her character that i want to focus on that before we get to all the romance stuff <3 i hope you all enjoy!
