Coming back into the house, Safira directly advanced towards her room, not wanting to get judged again by the judgmental lady, who bore holes through her all the way to her room.

Once in her room, she sat down on the squishy mattress of the bed with a huff.

Pata nahi ab kya drama hoga. Maine aise bohot se indian novels padge hain jisme aisi auratein sirf masle hi laati hain.

[I don't know what drama will unfold now. I've read many Indian novels where such women only bring troubles.]

She stood up and headed to the closet to take off her abaya and neatly hang it up.

Once done with the work, she pulled her dupatta on her head and walked downstairs to see all of them walking towards the garden.

She let out a breath of relief. Just as she was about to go back into her room to get some of her work done, her phone rang in her hand.

Startled, she fumbled with the phone in her hands, desperately trying to keep it from slipping to the ground.

After adjusting the phone in her hand, she glanced at the caller ID, seeing her mother's number flashing. With a frown, she answered the call.

Assalamualaikum, yes, mom?”

Waalaikumussalam, itne din ho gaye Hain tumhari shadi ko, ek call nahi kiya gaya tumse?”

[It's been so many days since your wedding, and you haven't bothered to give us a call?]

Biting on her lip, she went back to her room, while she answered her mother.

Ji, vo kamon mein reh gayi thi, maaf karein

[I was actually caught with work, I'm sorry]

She talked to her for a few minutes more before she gave an excuse of her husband calling her.

Tossing the phone on the bed, she walked to the closet to take out her laptop.

She balanced the laptop on her lap, fingers dancing across the keys as she searched and typed, crafting each sentence to perfection for her book.Lost in her writing, she didn't notice the knock on the door or when someone entered and settled on the bed. It was her brother-in-law, Aahan. She looked up and smiled at him.

“What are you so busy working on, bhabhi?”

She prepared herself for all the tirade she was going to grace him with.

“Do you read books?”

She asked, settling down the laptop on the bed, while she moved a little closer to him with a wide grin on her face.

“No, but Aysar does, well sometimes we have a whole Library in the mansion”

She widened her eyes in surprise, suddenly having an urge to explore it.

“Anyway, I'm writing a book. What do you think about it?”

He widened his eyes with a surprise.

“Wow, bhabhi you're writing a book? What type of it? I mean what is it about? I might also give it a try if it's you who has written it”

He said the last sentence with a wink, adding a playful touch to his words.

Giving him a smile, started telling about her book. She has been dying to tell about her book to someone other than Airah, Miral and Yusuf.
