The first rays of dawn filtered through the cabin windows, casting a golden glow across the wooden interior. Percy Jackson lay in his bed, savoring the quiet moments before the camp awoke. The soft sound of waves lapping against the shore outside the Poseidon cabin was soothing, a reminder of his father's ever-present power.

Percy turned his head slightly and saw Annabeth Chase, her blonde hair spread out like a halo on the pillow beside him. She was still asleep, her breathing steady and peaceful. He smiled to himself, grateful for these rare moments of tranquility. It wasn't often that they got to spend time alone together without the chaos of quests or training sessions looming over them.

The past few weeks had been particularly hectic, with new campers arriving and strange disturbances in the camp's protective barriers. Chiron had been on edge, and even the usually unflappable Mr. D had shown signs of concern. Percy and Annabeth had been at the center of it all, as always, their leadership roles demanding their constant attention.

But today was different. Today was theirs.

Percy gently slipped out of bed, careful not to wake Annabeth. He tiptoed across the cabin, grabbing a fresh set of clothes from the dresser. As he dressed, he glanced around the room. The cabin had been transformed over the years, a reflection of Percy's evolving identity and his deepening bond with Annabeth.

The walls were adorned with various artifacts and mementos from their adventures—shells and pieces of coral from their underwater escapades, drawings and blueprints that Annabeth had sketched, and even a framed photo of the two of them from their first visit to Camp Half-Blood. The bed they shared was a sturdy, handcrafted piece that had been a gift from the Hephaestus cabin, their friends always eager to help make the Poseidon cabin more homey.

Percy quietly left the cabin, stepping out into the crisp morning air. The camp was still asleep, the usual hustle and bustle of demigod life yet to begin. He made his way to the shoreline, the familiar scent of saltwater filling his lungs. He took a moment to appreciate the view, the sun rising over the horizon, casting a warm glow on the waves.

He bent down, picked up a smooth stone, and skipped it across the water. It bounced several times before sinking, leaving ripples in its wake. Percy smiled, thinking about how much had changed since his first day at Camp Half-Blood. Back then, he had been an awkward, confused kid, unaware of his divine heritage. Now, he was a seasoned hero, a leader, and most importantly, he had Annabeth by his side.

After a few minutes, Percy turned back to the cabin. He had an idea to surprise Annabeth with breakfast in bed. He knew his culinary skills were limited, but he was determined to make the effort. He quietly made his way to the camp's dining pavilion, hoping to find something he could whip up quickly.

As he entered the kitchen area, he found a few of the satyrs already up and preparing for the day's meals. Grover, his best friend and a satyr, was among them, munching on a tin can as he worked.

"Hey, Grover," Percy greeted, keeping his voice low. "Mind if I borrow the kitchen for a bit? I want to surprise Annabeth with breakfast."

Grover's eyes lit up with amusement. "Percy, cooking? This I have to see. Go ahead, man. Just try not to burn the place down."

Percy chuckled and set to work. He decided on a simple breakfast: scrambled eggs, toast, and some fresh fruit. As he cooked, he thought about the first time he had met Annabeth. She had saved him from a Minotaur, and from that moment on, their fates had been intertwined. They had faced countless dangers together, their bond growing stronger with each challenge.
