A way to figure out if you're going to be destined for success or if you're going to be the thing that sets the world ablaze.
For Riven Connors it was the opposite. He was fine with not knowing where he originated from. To him that left his life in his own hands instead of fates.
He was orphaned at a young aged, bounced from foster home to foster home up until he was 11. By that time he had found him a permanent home in a foster care facility.
While every other child got adopted he sat there staring out a cold huge window, never wondering why anybody didn't adopt him, never questioning where his parents were.
He had accepted the fact after his last home that family was something he never wanted.
In his experience all they did was hurt you, blame you for things that were out of your control and disappoint you.
And he was done searching for a family, he just wanted to be on his own if that's what fate had decided for him.
But fate said otherwise. While visiting the city of New Orleans Riven gets the one thing he didn't want.
A family.
And this family happened to be the first family of vampires something he didn't even know existed.
He was the only son to none other Niklaus Mikaelson the infamous Original Hybrid.
They say a son turns out to be a father's best friend. Well they hadn't met Klaus who was the definition of not worthy of being a parent.
And with his raging personality he had officially met his match as Riven had a much impulsive personality that overruled his any day.
What originally turned out to be a mission of finding out who was conspiring against him. Klaus soon starts to plan the takeover of New Orleans.
For the safety of his children as he was now expecting two new additions to the Mikaelson family.
