It feels so weird to just realize.. That you're living your life, and someone's life. The person I just saw today in class.. They could just turn into a fuzzy memory when I grow older, just like that.

I hope people will remember me.

Ring

Ring..

Nobody picked up the phone. It continues to ring, and ring for a while. Until somebody decided to go out of their room with a yawn, heading into the living room to answer the phone.

"Hello..?" The girl who picked up the phone croaked, clearly still feeling a bit sleepy from the long period of sleep. She rubbed her eyes, her thumb tapping against her leg as she waits for a response.

"Hello? " she repeats, just a bit louder this time. She hums, waiting for the caller to answer. There's a distinct sound of the caller letting out a sigh, possibly a relieved, kind of sigh.

"Oh my god, are you kidding me? It's me, Chloe! How..are you doing, Max?"

The caller revealed herself to be Max's old friend back at Arcadia Bay, a slight feeling of guilt filling the girl's chest.

"Oh, hey Chloe.. Sorry I haven't respond to your texts yet. I'm just adjusting to my surroundings, you know? Just need some space."

Max replied with a soft yet awkward tone of voice, not sure if Chloe will forgive her because she kind of ghosted her for a while.

"You haven't answered my texts for three fucking months, Max. I get it that you're busy and stuff, having new friends.."

Chloe said with a slightly annoyed tone, before letting out a small sigh.

"I miss you. My life's been kind of a hell hole since you left.. And I'm not blaming you for it but-"

"I just wish we could talk more often, Max."

Max paused for a few seconds, processing Chloe's words.

She's.. Right. Her dad died, and the only person that she have is just her. Max Caufield. And the only thing that she has done to her is ignoring her for three months.

Max quietly sighed.

"Chloe, I'm so sorry. I do want to hang out with you, and I'm.. Not ignoring you!  Im sorry if I'm being a bad friend, I don't know.."

Max awkwardly muttered the last part, quietly cursing herself for it.

".. Huh. You're still the same old max. Still nerdy."

Chloe jokes, trying to lighten up the mood a little from the awkward conversation.

"It's alright. I get it, you need some space because you're still adjusting, blah blah blah,"

"But still, can we call sometimes? It gets pretty lonely here, you know."

Chloe let out a small laugh, before deciding to speak again.

"Okay, I gotta go now. Im gonna miss the bus and mom's will be pissed if I did. See you later, Max."

She said quickly, her words slurred before she hangs up the phone. Max hums, nodding to herself as she stretches her arms.

'Gotta get ready..'
