"Jasmine! Im coming back to canada!" Katrina says excitedly through the phone, we had been best friends for years since childhood until she moved to los Angeles

"What?!" I said in a shocked tone, i hadnt expected the news but i was already internally jumping up and down excited for her to return

"This weekend!" Kat replied still in the same excited tone, "u can stay at my place!" I said matching her excited tone

"Perfect!" Kat says never losing excitement but honestly i dont blame her

"Yes perfect, ill pick u from the airport" i said smiling brightly even if kat couldnt see me through the call

"Im so excited! I miss the cold!" Kat says reminiscing on the harsh winters, although the winters were rough kat still missed them

"I have to go now but ill see you soon kat! Love you!" I said making kissing noises jokingly into the the phone speaker

"Okay see you! I love you too!" Kat replied while laughing at my noises, missing my goofiness since moving

We exchange a few more words before ending the phone call

I was just sitting on my balcony, warmly in a heap of blankets before getting the call from katrina and receiving the news

"U hear that ivy? Auntie kat is coming back!!" I said giggling as ivy, my childhood dog started jumping on me trying to lick my face

She was a giant dog so i almost fell over

This reunion will be so much chaos

The weekend was now coming closer as it was now friday and i had just came off of work, being a florist is not easy

I arrived at my house and plopped onto the couch, scrolling endlessly on my phone reaching boredom

"Hi baby" i said softly as ivy climbed on to my lap

"Always been mommys girl havent u" i said softly laughing as she stared at me, shes a big dog but always wants to go onto my lap, getting the habit from when she was younger and lighter

I got her when i was 11 for my birthday, shes a Doberman so she got big really, really fast

I suddenly get a text from kat saying her flight had been moved to earlier, meaning she would be coming really early

I immediately call her as i read her text, "what time would u be arriving then?" I asked in a confused tone

"Around 7 Am, im sorry jazzy i can get a lift to ur house if its too early for u" kat said in a stressed manor, worrying about me being mad about the time change

"No no dont worry i can always pick u up no matter what, just let me know when u land okay?" i said reassuring katrina knowing she's probably worried what i was going to think

"Okay thanks jaz ur the best" kat said in a relief as she let out the breath she was holding

"Ill see you tomorrow bye bye" i said making the kissing noises again knowing it'll make kat laugh out her stress

"Bye jazzy" kat said laughing, which was like music to my ears after hearing how worried she was

I ended the call and placed my phone beside me on the couch, i let out a big sigh feeling my eyes closing on me

"U hungry my little baby?" I said to ivy as she just kept her stare on me, her head tilting a little bit

"Im going to take that as a yes" i mumbled as i softly tapped ivy, hinting for her to walk to where she eats

I went to my kitchen and got her food ready, after doing so i placed it infront of her and she started eating

I plopped onto the couch again but this time i thought about if i needed to do anything else today

I cleaned the house entirely, stocked up the food in the kitchen, watered my plants, whats left?

I kept repeating my list of what i needed to do today and from what i know, i did everything but somehow i still feel like im missing something..

The guest room! Shit. I forgot to get the guest room ready.

I quickly jumped up from the couch and rushed to the guest room, causing ivy to get startled by the sudden movement of me rushing past her, i realised it still needed pillows and bedsheets

I sucked my teeth taking a deep breath trying not to freak out

I went to my storage closet and found brand new pillows, still in their package and brought them into the room, i then went straight back to the closet and got the bedsheets and blankets which were really expensive,

Hence, why i dont use them but if its for kat then ill let her use them, they were a gift from my mom and my mom loves kat so whatever!

I finished up with the room, decorating it with pictures of me and kat from my stache of pictures

I stood at the door of the room after finishing with a wide but tired smile, proud that i finished just in time

I suddenly heard pattering footsteps behind me causing me to turn around to the hallway

"Hi ivy baby" i said smilling and crouching down to carry her, kissing her cheek as she tries to lick my face

Although she was heavy, ive gotten used to carrying her

"Lets get u to sleep" i said softly as i walked to her bed in my room, it was cheeta print and had a cheeta print fluffy blanket

Yes u might think im obsessed with cheeta print but really, its all ivy

I placed her down and draped her blanket over her, kissing her head before walking to my closet

I change into something comfy, setting my alarm clock for 5 am just incase kat arrives sooner

I crawled into my bed and let out a sigh of relief feeling the coziness of my bed after standing up all day long

I soon fall asleep, getting mentally prepared for tomorrows early morning.
