(IN THIS AU, AMERICA AND AUSTRALIA HAVE THE SAME SUMMER TIME UNLIKE IN REAL LIFE WHERE IT'S THE OPPOSITE.)

Aria's pov

For most people, summer is a time off school, a time to go on vacations, or a time to just stay at home and relax all day. For me, summer was a time my parents sent me away so they could enjoy time on their own. Ever since I was 10 years old I was sent to summer camp. At first I wasn't too keen on the idea of being away from home for the summer but that quickly changed once I met some really good friends. Making new friends was great until I realized that I only got to see them 3 months out of the year. I had friends at school also but I wasn't nearly as close to them as I was with my friends from summer camp.

This summer camp was just your average summer camp in the middle of California. It had 6 cabins for girls to stay in and there were 6 cabins for boys to stay in. Each cabin had different age groups ranging anywhere from 10-17 years old. There is also a lake where you can do canoeing and swimming. There is a place to do archery at. There is also the classic arts and crafts center. I always spent the most of my free time swimming in the lake because it always relaxed me but then again it was almost always 90 degrees (32 degrees Celsius). These years were the best years of my life.

*Flashback to 10 year old Aria*

"Do I have to go to away?" I stared out the window as my parents pulled out of the driveway.

"Aria, you'll have so much fun sweetie. You'll meet new friends and you also get to enjoy the nice outdoors instead of sitting in the house all summer long." My mother smiled back at me.

Only being 10 years old, I was very much afraid of being away from my mom and dad for so long. The longest I've been away from them was when I spent the weekend at my grandparents' house which was only 10 minutes away from my house. This camp was at least 2 hours away and I knew no one that was going.

The whole rest of the car ride just insisted of my parents talking about the camp and how much fun I was going to have.

After the 2 hour long car ride we arrived at the camp to see many campers get dropped off by their parents. Seeing all the kids made my stomach turn with nervousness.

As I was getting my suitcase out of the car my parents went to the registration table to get my name in and see where my cabin was. They came back and helped me bring my stuff to my new home for the next 2 months.

"Here you are." My mother began. "It's time for us to go now. Have a fun summer sweet heart. I love you." She then kissed my cheek and hugged me.

"What if I miss you guys too much?" I couldn't stop myself from starting to cry.

"Don't cry. We'll be back in no time. You'll have so much fun that you won't even remember to miss us." My dad said before he hugged me.

I just nodded my head and yelled "bye" when they walked out of the cabin. After they left I just sat on my bed not knowing what to do next. Then a girl my age walked in with two huge suitcases. I decided to move from my place and help her with her heavy suitcases.

"Thanks. These are really heavy." The blonde haired girl said to me.

"I'm Zoe. What's your name?" she said as she claimed the bed next to mine in the middle of the cabin.

"My names Aria." I said as I slowly began to put my things in the small dresser.

Slowly more campers came in and we all introduced ourselves to each other. We were all 10 or 11 years old so it was nice to have other girls of the same age around. My camp counselor's name was Madison and she was 21 years old. She was from California like me and had a love for the outdoors.
