After the fourth ring I decided to pick up the phone.

"Hello?" Luke's voice was faint and quivering, like he's been crying.

"Luke, what's wrong?"

Usually when he calls its for some dumb reason but I could hear the hurt in his voice.

"I fucked up Eve", he sniffled. Knowing something was up I grabbed my keys of my dresser and ran to my car wearing just some snowman pajama pants and a hoodie. All I know is that I need to get to him as fast as I can.

Luke

Eve is the only one I know who could help me with my problems. She's been with me for as long as I can remember and she knows me better than I know myself. Plus, she gives the best advice. I really fucked up with Jenny this time. Fuck I feel so stupid. The familiar sound of Eve's old car greets my curb and I stand at the door and wait for her.

Evangelina

Luke is standing at the doorway as I run to his house. He looks horrible. Puffy eyes, runny nose, streaked cheeks, I wonder how long he's been crying.

"What's wrong?" I say guiding him back into the house out of the rain.

"I-it's J-j-j-Jen" he chokes out. "We got into a huge fight and I think s-she wants to b-b-breakup with m-me." I know I should feel bad, but I'm kind of relieved. I've had a crush on Luke all throughout high school but he's been dating this girl Jennifer since October of our Freshmen year.

"It's okay Luke, she wasn't worth it," I say trying to comfort him.

"It's not okay. I've loved her for as long as I can remember. She's the only girl I've ever loved. I think she's the one." He just breaks down into held in tears. I've never seen him this bad. My heart drops to my stomach. -the only girl he ever loved. She's the one.- I hold back tears. She doesn't deserve him. My arms embrace him in a consoling hug as I wish I was the one who got to hold him every night.
