Road Trip

Arizona

Tears streamed down my face as I climbed into the car. All my friends waved to me as I waved back through the window. We were packed up and all ready to go to Arizona. My name is Skyler by the way. I am 15 and I have short brown hair, glasses, and freckeles all over my face.

Anyways as I was saying my parents were driving me to my new "home". I have to live with my grandmother for the rest of the year while my parents go to hawaii for their long over due honeymoon. I remember my parents telling me about how we used to visit her every summer but I don't remember ever coming here. Then again that was over 10 years ago.

I sighed a breath of relief when we pulled into her driveway and I saw all the other houses. There has to be kids here somewhere. Right? As my grandma walked out of her house, I got out of the car. She then proceded to hug me and kiss me leaving red lipstick marks all over my face.

My parents were going to spend two days with me and grandma and then head to the airport and leave me all alone for the rest of the year. I had been icing them out since they told me the news.

My parents and grandma were making dinner so I decided to go exploring around the neighborhood. As I was walking I saw a bunny on the side of the road. I crossed the road to go snap some pics for my photography class. When I was almost to the other side I heard a few girls yell at me to stop. So I did, and when I turned to face them a large truck passed me and I fell to the ground in shock. The girls ran over to me and one of the picked me up and carried me to where they had been standing.

One of the girls ran into a house and came back with a glass of water. I reached out my hand to take it but she threw the water in my face! That brought me back to reality and I stared at them with awe. The one with the long brown hair and freckles spoke first, " You must be new here. I'm Madison, the girl with the red hair is Taylor, the chick over there with the long black hair is Mikaleah, that girl with the brown hair and glasses is Emma, and the girl who carried you here is Casey." "What about that little girl?" I asked. "Oh that's just Casey s little sister Ashley" said Taylor.

I decided I should tell them my name seeing as the just saved my life. "I..I'm Skyler" I said barely above a whisper. "Well nice to meet you Tyler" said Casey. I was in no position to argue so I just smiled.

"We are having a sleepover at my house tonight. You can come if you want to." Said Madison. I just nodded and got up and began to walk home to ask my parents for permission.

When I walked into the house the aroma of cornbread and mashed potatoes and turkey filled the house. I walked over to my mom and asked her if I could head to a new friends house and sleepober . My mom being my mom agreed. She didn't really care what I did most of the time. I ran upstairs, packed my bag, ran back downstairs and gave everyone a hug and kiss before heading out the door to meet my new friends.
