Season 2 Chapter 7. The Hottest Place

Shidou lands on one foot after scoring an amazing goal that sent the entire crowd into a frenzy and frustrating some who were on the side of Blue Lock.

Atsuto: My word! Japan's U-20s' No. 13, Ryusei Shidou... scores an equalizer!

The striker then spreads his arms to the side as he could feel the dopamine rushing to his brain after scoring and laughs like a madman.

Shidou: Getting high on brain juice! Ah, I'm coming. Ka-sploosh~.

Sae: We're still only level, Mr. Two Pump Chump Devil.

Bachira: Yikes. That one was impossible to stop.

Niko: That was the chemical reaction between Sae Itoshi and Ryusei Shidou.

Megumi squints his eyes and glares at the duo as he breaks down their goal to make some kind of sense out of it.

Megumi: ( That set play was way too perfect. Shidou probably ran at top speed to the place he envisioned shooting from. Reading it, Chigiri went to intercept him. But Sae Itoshi assessed Chigiri's speed, the spot Shidou wanted to be in, and the speed and quality of his own pass. He assessed it all in an instant and hit a pass through the eye of a needle. Both the brain and body need to act on reflexes to score a goal like that. It's reflex multiplied by reflex! Superhuman plays by Sae Itoshi and Ryusei Shidou stacked on one another to make that goal! Blue Lock couldn't handle Shidou's image. But Sae Itoshi saw through it and responded with an exquisite pass. Plus, for these two, this is just the prologue. )

Shidou: Lovely stuff, Mr. Long Bottom Lashes the Elder. I like you. Give me your info later.

Sae: Hm? I'll think about it if you score a hat-trick.

Shidou: *excited* You mean it? That's a promise.

Megumi: ( If we don't stop them, they'll come straight back and run away with the match. )

Suddenly, a sharp pain shoots through Niko's ankle as he drops to one knee while holding it in pain. Anri lets out a worried squeak while Ego just calmly pushes up his glasses.

Ego: I guess it's time. A center back who got a yellow for a last-ditch tackle that hurt his own ankle. And the U-20s have been reborn due to the power of Sae Itoshi and Shidou Ryusei. It's time to bring on some subs.

Anri: Understood. Who do you want to bring on?

Ego: Our balance is broken. We need someone who can anchor the game. So the card I need to play is...

The referee then holds up the electronic board and Niko sees that he was being subbed out for number 14. Reo then takes off his jacket and walks out onto the field and high fives Niko who was walking back to the bench.

Reo: Good job, Niko.

Niko: I'll leave the rest to you. 

Reo then walks into position as everyone waits for the game to resume. The ball resumes with the ball at Isagi's feet before he immediately passes it to Megumi.
