"Harry! Dinner's ready!" My mum, Lily called from the kitchen. I ran from the living room to the dining room, starving. Greeted by my parents, I sat down at the table.
"Thanks mum, this looks brilliant." I said as I dug in.
She smiled in return. "James, don't you have something for Harry?"
My dad pulled a letter from behind his back and handed it to me. I knew what it was but was excited never the less. Ripping open the envelope, I read it out to my mum and dad.
"Dear Mr Potter,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Term begins on 1 September. We await your owl by no later than 31 July.
Yours sincerely,
Minerva McGonagall
Deputy Headmistress"
My dad smiled "Just like mine, my boy."
"James, all of the letters are the same except the name." My mother told him, rolling her eyes.
"Yeah, but still. He's my boy. Your going to create a new generation of marauders, aren't you son?" He looked down at me proudly.
"Definitely." I replied happily,
I always loved the stories of Uncle Padfoot, Uncle Moony and my dad. There was also Wormtail, but he's a traitor who nearly got my family killed. We refused to speak of him in my house.
After dinner, my mum, dad and I went for a walk around my hometown, Godric's Hollow. There were other wizards there, like Padfoot, Moony and Bathilda Bagshot, but there's also some muggles.
As we were walking past Sirius's house, he came out. "Harry, Lily, James! Come inside and have a drink! I heard you got a very important letter son." He shouted as he winked.
We walked inside, and I sat on the all too familiar couch. Sirius handed me a glass of pumpkin juice and handed both my parents a butterbeer.
"So Harry, are you excited for Hogwarts? You'll have quite the legacy there, with James being your father" Sirius began.
"I can't wait! Imagine, me casting spells, mixing poti-" I started, but was interrupted by dad.
"I hate to burst your bubble son, but if you get my skills in Potions, I don't think that'll go too well."
"Yes but if he gets mine, he'll be top of the class!" My mum stated.
They continued arguing about who's skills I would get, until Sirius interrupted them laughing.
"Evans, Prongs. He'll probably get both of your skills! Then he'll be top of his year!"
The night continued on the topic of Hogwarts, until it was finally time to go home. Dad carried me up to my bed as I fell asleep on Sirius's couch. I felt my hair being stroked and my forehead kissed before I fell into an even deeper sleep.
