To hell and back

one hell of a gardener

I open my eyes to the sound of a shrill scream and got up with a start. I looked around and noticed how interesting my surroundings really were. I had expected to be surrounded by flames and volcanic rock, but I was in a dark cave.
"Hm, hell doesn't seem to be as...hot as I thought it would be". I looked around to see were the others were and saw them on the floor out cold.
"Go figure." I thought as I slapped brendon awake. In hind sight smacking someone who takes three different forms of martial arts out of their slumber wasnt a smart idea.his eyes flashed open and in an instant he jammed his fist into my stomach as he surged upward he sat up as I fell to my knees In pain.
"Who,what,where?" Brendon babbled in alarm. I couldn't answer I was to busy clenching my gut trying not to throw up.
"Man you punch hard." I groaned in response.
"Kavon? What are you doing on the floor aren't we on a tight schedule?" He ignorantly asked me(by this point I was just about ready to knock him back asleep).
"Doesn't matter just help me wake up the others, we are in a hurry." That being said me and him woke everybody up and let them get used to their surroundings too. There was no need for a lot of explanation all five of us knew where we were and what we came to do. Tyler was the first to notice the cave only had one way out. Me, Yomari, tyler, Hasani, and Brendon all walk out in silence. It was more unhealthy excitement than fear, we were in the darkest depths of the underworld we had to find something cool along the way right? I had pondered this though as we walked for 10 minutes until we saw a light coming from the exit.
"Guys remember were we are, once we go out there anything can happen stay on your toes." Yomari stated he was telling Us to be wary but we all knew he had as much anticipation as we did,this was going to be a little fun. We all nodded attentively and headed towards the light. We burst out into a complete change of setting. It was a gigantic field of asphodels and pomegranate trees. Not too far from us a lady in an all white dress was sitting under a pomegranate tree caressing an asphodel. I assumed since she was the only there it was her garden.
"So should we ask her where to find Alice?" Tyler inquired.
"Yeah a gardener in hell let's ask her for directions" sani replied in his usual sarcastic tone
"We'll I don't suppose you have a map"
"Its better we find our own way than bother the residents, Tyler" I decided to intervene because we had no time to bicker.
"You know what forget it I'll ask her." I said as I walked towards her. I didn't notice but u stepped on one of her flowers and she sure did.
"Excuse me miss do you-" I didn't get to finish. She turned a around and gave me a hard stare. I looked down at my foot and saw my tennis shoes crushing one her flowers.
"Oh, I'm really sorry I didn't mean to-".She cut me off with a hiss.
"Come again?" I asked the lady in astonishment. She hissed again
"How dare you crush my beautiful creation you filthy human!" Before I could reply to that she let out a horrific banshee scream and I fell to my knees in pain. She pointed her hand at my aiming for my torso but I wasn't paying attention. Her nails slowly started to extend inch by inch. At first it was hardly noticeable but in an instant her nails shot forward like a fully notched arrow straight towards me. I had gotten over her shrill singing by then but as I looked up I saw her five feet long finger nails growing towards at an alarming rate. I was on the my knees and I had very little time to react I lunged to the side trying to get out of the way. I knew that hardly mattered she'd still impale my side but Yomari saved me life. He lunged forward and grabbed my collar. He threw me out of the way with ease(as expected of the strongest). I looked back at where I was a moment ago and saw the Lady's nails embedded in the ground. While she was distracted Tyler charged towards the demon harpy(that's what I'm calling it now) not wasting a single second. She tried to stab him with her other free hand her left hand
seemed to be stuck in the ground. The nails  shot forward from her right hand but Tyler wasn't going to fall for the same trick twice. He dashed to the left, in between both hands and bounded towards her. I saw the panic on her face as she tried to free her claws from the ground. She jerked and yanked but it was no use all she could do was brace herself for the pain Tyler was about to unleash. He punched her in the stomach so hard she bent over in pain but his onslaught was just beginning. He kneed her head so hard she jerked back upward. A left jab and a right hook followed by a Two more jabs and a push kick he uprooted her claws from the hard (but fertile) soil,and she flew back. As she lied on the floor her nails retracted and she groaned. She definitely felt Tyler's combo but it wasn't nearly enough to keep her down for the count. Tyler looked back
"Guys go ahead without me I'll finish her myself". But Brendon argued
"No way we have to stick together we don't know anything about this place"
"Look we don't have any time to waste theirs an exit right over their." Tyler pointed to a whole in the wall 15 feet across from us.
"She's nothing I can't handle besides it was my idea to ask so its my responsibility. Trust me I got this." He gave an assuring smile and we all nodded in understanding as we made our way for the exit. The last thing I heard Tyler say was
"Now its just 1 on 1" and we descended into the dark halls once again.
