Reason Why She Smiles

FIRST

JOHANN

Today is Saturday.

I'm going to fetch my bestfriend,Kirsten Carpenter,an annoying 10 year old blonde girl.

We really get each other because our parents were both divorced and both of us were born in the Philippines even though we don't have a Filipino blood.

Natuto na kaming mag tagalog kasi dito na kami nakatira for 9 years.

"Johann! Sweetie? Akala ko ba you are going to fetch Kirsten?" Danica said

Danica is dad's girlfriend. She's half  German and half Filipina.

I treat her like family.
Like an aunt or something.

"Yeah! Bababa na ko." Bumaba na nga ako.

I saw her putting food on top of the table.

"Kumain ka na. Sunduin mo na rin si Kirsten. You might be late."

"Seriously? They're just next door,Danica and our school is like 10 houses away or something. She might be still asleep right now." I said while my mouth is full

"Well then go wake her up." She said then she grabbed her car keys from the shelf.

"Okay. Wait for us."  I went out of the house at pumunta na ako kila Kirsten.

Why do kids like us have to wake up so maaga?

I wore my school uniform and went down stairs immediately,and their I saw the ugliest creature ever,Johann Perry.

"Hi Ms. Deon. Where is Kirs---" Johann said but I didn't let him finish

"I'm here you useless bag." I said

"Honey? Words." Mom said

"Sorry." Sabi ko and I did my puppy eyes

"Halika na. Ihahatid tayo ni Danica." Sabi ni Johann and he grabbed my hand.

"Bye Mrs. Carpenter I mean Ms. Deon!"  Nagbabye na sya kaya ako naman

"Bye Mom!"

Johann and I entered Danica's car.

"Hi Danica." I said

We arrived in school just in time. The bell rang 5 minutes later.

Johann and I are seatmates.

He's pretty noisy.

I'm sure all of the girls that he sat with was annoyed these past 3 quarters.

Okay...I'm pissed.

"Shut up,Johann!" I screamed to his ear.

"Whatever."

At recess linapitan ako nung kaklase ko na boy.

Umupo sya sa tabi ko. Dun sa seat ni Johann. Bumibili pa kasi si Johann.

"Bigay mo sakin yang baon mo!" Hinawakan nya yung food ko

"I can share it with you. You don't have to agaw it from me." I said calmly.

"Wag ka nga mag english! Akin na nga sabi!" Kinuha nya nga talaga

"Ano ba problema mo? Akin na nga yan!" Agaw ko sakanya

"Alis!" He pushed me

Oh... I can't stop myself...I just....I just

I pushed him harder and he fell on the floor

Ms. Grace saw me.

GREAT! Now it's my fault.
