Poem one

This is a poem I had to write for English class about a Japanese internment camp during WWII. It is from the POV of a 16 year old Japanese girl on her way to camp.

We got up in the bus,
when they started moving us,
We moved onto the train,
and I hoped that it would rain,
In my heart his name was set,
I knew I won't forget
It was in the fall,
when he again saw us all,
Of all the others he could see,
he came straight to me,
It was very damp,
at that one new camp,
I knew it won't be gold,
but I didn't think it'll be this cold,
There where many things I need,
but at the moment it was to be freed.
