I walk out of school, excited and nervous for the night. There's an event and everyone's going to the street right behind my house to hang out. My boyfriend is going too so I wanted to look really good.
When I get home the first thing I do is shower, washing my long brown hair. When I get out I plug the curler in and blow dry my hair. I wrap a towel around my body and curl my hair. Once I'm satisfied by the small curls I walk out and I look at my closet.
All I had was jeans and shorts but I want to surprise him so I push to the back and find a cute grey skirt with a light pink floral design on it. I also pick out a black shirt to wear with it. When I change into it I add a pair of black leggings underneath the school and grab a little black purse, putting my wallet in it.
I head back into my bathroom and put on some make-up. Eyeliner, eyeshadow, lipgloss, the basics. After I finish I get a call on my phone and I answer it seeing that the number was my friend who was going to walk with me to where we were all meeting up after getting dropped off.
"Hey, what's up?" I ask.
She replies "I'm on my way, are you ready?"
I pop my p "yup, just finished"
"Great be there in a few"
"Bye"
"Bye"
I put my phone in my little black bag and sling it over my shoulder. I go wait by the door before getting a text saying she's here. I yell to my parents room.
"I'm leaving" I yell
I hear my dad yell "ok have fun"
I leave, and see my friend's ride drive away, her standing at the curb.
"Hey!" I say excitedly.
She looks me over before saying "your wearing a skirt"
"Yup"I say popping my p.
"He's such a lucky guy..." She mumbles under her breath.
We walk to the cafe down the street from my house where we were all meeting up and wait inside. We talk until a big group of guys walks in making me look up from my phone.
Most of our group for the night was in there, including my boyfriend. I smile at him and he walks over smiling back.
"You look amazing tonight" he says kissing my cheek.
I blush and say "you look great too"
He was wearing a button up white shirt and a pair of loose jeans, carrying his signature hoodie.
"Ok love birds break it up" one of my friends says from behind me.
The rest of our group joins us and we head out. When we walk out of the cafe a cold breeze hits me and I shiver a little.
My boyfriend drapes his jacket over my shoulders and says "I knew you would be cold"
"I'm always cold"
"Your hands are always freezing too" he says grabbing one of them.
I smile and say "yeah, I don't know how your always so warm."
For the rest of the night we walked around, holding hands, chatting, and hanging out with the group. Once it got to 9:30 my dad texted me to come home.
I frown at my phone "I gotta go home now guys"
"I'll walk you" my boyfriend says getting out of the chair he was sitting in at the cafe.
"Thanks"
As we walked out I heard one of the guys say "use protection" making me laugh and him chuckle.
We walk down my street in silence and when we get to my door I break the silence.
"I had fun tonight" I say smiling at him
"Me too"
I see his eyes drop down to my lips for a second and he starts leaning in. Before I know it his lips are on mine and then gone.
I had my first kiss under the flickering light of my dying porch light.
