How did you find me?
Hidden in the darkest corner of my mind.
Waiting for someone to set me free,
From the chains to which I had resigned.
On the edge of the end,
You caught me before I fell.
You took me and began to mend,
But took apart my shell.
No longer am I left behind,
I'm not just a book on a shelf.
Because of you I have a new state of mind,
I no longer detest myself.
But that was just the beginning.
You listened to my heart,
My stories, traumas, and tragedies.
You never let me fall apart.
And now I think I'm falling for you,
The one who always made me smile.
You stabbed me through and through,
It's plain to see, yet I'm still in denial.
Don't make me do this,
I'll fall apart to no end.
You want to seal my fate with a kiss.
You started out as just a friend.
I need to get away,
But I just can't let you go.
I'm trying so hard to keep my feelings at bay,
I just can't let them show.
Every time you touch me,
My heart beats out of my chest.
And I realize how much you mean to me,
But now I'm just a friend at best.
