My first love is my best friend of twenty years.

In his house, there are two pairs of everything, from dinning ware to toiletries. As well as two cell phones; one the latest model and the other so old it look like it will fall apart any moment.

Inside the cupboard, there is a different brand of cigarettes from the ones I know he used to buy.

Whenever the doorbell rings, he will be the first to get the door, even if I am the closest to it. He will say, “It is probably a delivery,” or “It must be a mail.” That is what he always says about whomever he is waiting for.

Will I ever see that person’s face?

But because I know he is gay, I don’t really expect him to be interested in me that way.

But that doesn't mean it hurt any lesser.

This is a compilation of unsent text messages Anna found in his old cell phone.
