Prologue

Carter's POV

I've never noticed before, there's a boy next door, he's got ginger hair and blue eyes and seems to always be smiling and hanging out with two people he calls 'Chris' and 'Ross' and they call him 'Alex' I don't know what this means but I know these boys are a lot of fun even if I have to stay inside the house and can only watch from a small window

"MUMMY!" I called to my mother as I walked to her room
"Yes carter?" She asked as I walked in
"There's a boy next door can I go play with him?" I asked she froze and simply replied
"No," I could see he eyes where filled with tears
"Mummy, why are you crying?"
"Please sweetie never speak about him in this house, or to me," she said in a whisper I nodded and went back to my room to watch the boy and his friends

I wonder why mummy started to cry when I asked about him?

Mummy didn't return home last night I'm worried she's always here durning the mornings to take me to school.

Alex was taking boxes out with his dad and mum this morning while I watched that's when he saw me and came and started talking to me

"Hey kid what's your name?" He asked
"Carter," I whispered suddenly extremely nervous
"Nice to meet you Carter, I'm Alex," he says smiling I nod
"What are you doing?" I ask
"I'm moving, we're going to go live somewhere else we're not moving out of Bristol but where moving to a larger house so my step mum can have my new twin sisters," he says excitedly I nod I don't know what the word 'twin' means, something good I'm guessing by the way he's acting
"Awesome," I say I look over at the house and see a very disheartened looking Chris sipping tea while he leans against the door
"Who's that?" I ask even thought I know full well who it is I just don't want to seem creepy
"That's Chris he's one of my best friends his uh, his parents kicked him out for being gay, do you know what the word 'gay' means?" I shake my head "it means you like the same gender so he likes boys, but his parents don't want him to like boys so they got rid of him?" Alex explains I stare at him in shock WHY WOULD ANYONE DO THAT you don't just 'get rid' of your son that's horrible I decide immediately I don't like Chris's parents
"I know their horrible, Chris is a great guy I don't understand why they did that so whe-"
"ALEX COME AND PUT THESE BOXES IN THE TRUCK!" Alex's mum interrupts what he's say I look over and see the women standing next to a pile of boxes with the word Alex written on each with another word under neigh it
"Yes okay mum," he says 'Hey sorry we've never talked before never thought anyone but that old grumpy man lived here," he says before waking off "BYEEE!" He yells as he starts helping with the boxes I wave and go back inside today dad takes me to school instead of mum, I'm worried about her

The funerals on Saturday.

Three days away.

Dad has kept me locked in my room since they found out about it, They don't even know what happened to her. I think he killed her. They said it was a fire that killed her, and that her body had been burned to the point it wasn't even recognisable they only knew it was her because of her teeth, but how they knew it was her because of her teeth is a total mystery to me they looked just as black and burned as the rest of her.

Dads been drinking heaps since then, and he's stopped talking to me

There's nothing keeping me going anymore schools sucks cause I don't have any friends and people look at me as the weird one but I gotta keep going I know mum would've wanted that.

Dad hasn't been feeding me very well he's always been a very angry parent without mum but now I don't want to be home at all if I do end up coming home I come home before he wakes up and starts yelling at me.

I'm scared I don't have any friends and I'm doing badly at school I'm always late because I have to walk there my teacher hates me and gives me bad grades and she gives me detention all the time

Yay happy birthday to me I'm 9 this year, my teacher made me a cake and everyone sang happy birthday, I like my new teacher he's great and he's funny and happy all the time, he gives us candy and chocolate and helps me out a lot.

My dads been ignoring me more and more lately he doesn't even know I exist anymore, I miss mum but I'm used to cooking my own diner and getting myself ready now, walking to schools easier now since I'm fitter and I'm usually early instead of late, my grades are still bad but at least I'm starting to improve.

High schools a nightmare I never thought I'd say that but it is.

I've been doing better but I'm still struggling a bit, last report was all b's and C's nothing higher or lower.

I don't like living here anymore I'm hungry and I have no money, my dad ignores me and to make things worse.

SHE, moved in.

Who's she? Alisha Colbert, my dads new girlfriend, she makes me sick to my core she's horrible and says I'm a waste of human life, well I could say the exact same about her.

You've got to be kidding me he asked her to marry him, that's it I'm leaving as soon as they get married they won't even notice I'm gone will they? No. They said their planning to get married in around 1 and a half years because by then they'll have all the money they need, that should give me enough time to leave, and then I'll be a free man I'll be 18 and there's nothing they can do about me then.

Today's the day their getting married I'm already half way across town from their wedding, I saw Aunty Clara and she told me I should get as much money as I need so I can get away from these two, that's exactly what I've done, I'm going to go home and grab my bag and then I'm ready to go off on my own.

Okay everyone I hope you enjoyed the prologue, I'm going to bring back all the stories I really enjoyed writing, mainly the Angel that came from Bristol hill case I had way to much fun writing that, so yeah enjoy his story I'm open for suggestions and feedback on this story, oh and is carter a boy or a girl to you? I'm going to be updating this every three days, so hope you guys enjoy.
