Prologue

Carter was a disappointment. His father abandoned him and his family when he turned fourteen. Why? Because his son started dressing like a girl. After his dad was gone, Carter's mom turned to drinking, locking herself away from her son, leaving him in the care of his older sister. Life for Carter seemed like it would just always be hell.
