Paper Airplane

I used to be

A new paper airplane

Drifting on the wind

Floating freely across the room

Seeking refuge in the next persons hand

Now I am that same paper airplane

Crumpled in the trash

Surounded by garbage

Gum sticking to me

Markers staining my once clean wings

Never to feel the light weight of the wind under my wings

Ever

Again
