The Cauldron

273 16 14

A child's eyes, a wicked surprise,

The temptation comes to stain.

The goodness cure will taint the pure

And drown them in its crimson rain.

Flawless skin, unmarred by sin,

Will be torn by beastly claws.

An elder, wise, is not surprised--

The cycle is humanity's law.

Do they know that this vile foe,

An embodiment of vice and lies,

Was once a child, once undefiled,

A human without a mortal disguise?

The skin will bleed; a hateful seed

Will bloom into a land of thorns.

But none will see the agony:

The rose will veil its prickly horns.

Love and trust will fall to lust;

Avarice controls the war;

Selfish deeds and lifeless speeds,

Will corrode the guileless core.

Insidious goals by demonic roles:

They flourish like a cancer!

Ignorant sheep are awake but asleep,

Too dormant to see the answer!

In a joyous dose of comatose,

They sink into a thoughtless dream.

In that emptiness they label bliss,

They're just sheep of the wolf's regime!

Aha! That beast! He loves to feast

Upon the ones who are not blind.

The beast must kill an innocent will;

Evil fears the thinking mind.

Wake up! The veneer will disappear

As reality sinks and settles.

Snatch the rose and expose

Its thorns; tear the petals!

We can create our own fate,

We can weave a peaceful design.

It's in our choice, a one-for-all voice,

Because our choices intertwine.

What's good for you may be worse for two,

So think twice before you act!

Two perspectives are more effective

Than the simple, one-sided fact.

Forgive; don't forget or you'll learn to regret

That the mistake will reoccur.

Quell those fires of ill desires;

Temptation is misfortune stirred.

Pandora's jar will misalign the stars,

And the diverse quilt will unstitch.

Mischief and vice and everything "nice"

Stir the cauldron of the witch.

The crow of woe was once the dove of love.

Innocence is tainted by experience.

Hehe. This poem is just full of a lot of things I've been thinking about and very inspired by our lovely society. Note the sarcasm. :)

Oh yeah. When I say "you", I really don't mean you. I mean them.

Tell me what you think? I probably could have lengthened this by a lot, but I decided to stop. I'll just cover some other aspects in other poems. :3
