She Walks In Glory

Deep in a green valley

In the heart of a forest.

Surrounded by green trees

With meadows here and there

She stirs in the springtime

A young lady

of exquisite beauty

Clothed in green

With lilies in her hair

and eyes of cornflower blue

She slowly wakes to look around

The lovely lady

Walks in glory

We call her spring.

In summer, her eyes lighten

to a soft sky blue

Her gown turns golden

and her hair flows wild

covered with daises

And she walks in glory

Turning our world warm

In the fall, the lady's gown is russet brown

Her hair is chestnut

and she wears maple leaves in her hair

Her eyes have turned golden

and her skin is deeply tanned

She walks in Glory

And the air grows crisp and cool

In wintertime

Her gown is a soft snow white

Her hair is platinum blond

She wears snowflakes in her hair

Small animals pause at her approach

For she walks in glory

as the world turns cold

We call her Gaea

or Demeter

For she is Mother Nature

and she still rules this world

Throughout the year

She walks in glory

and we watch in wonder

as we behold

what she can do.
