"I'm not letting you become a firefighter, it's a job for guys not girls!" he shouted

"Excuse me?" Normani snapped back

"You won't be able to do it, I love you babe, but this isn't a job for you."

"How do you know I wouldn't be able to do it?"

"C'mon babe, they have it worse than us and we really have it bad, you wouldn't be able to keep up."

"Well, if you think you're strong enough to be a cop, that's your thing. But I am going to be a great firefighter Jason, end of the story!"

"No you won't! I'm your boyfriend and I forbid you to apply to the academy!"

"You forbid me? Who do you think you are?"

"Your boyfriend." He said with a proud smirk on his face

"You see, my boyfriend said he'd support me no matter what. Guess you've changed. And apparently, this just came in, my relationship status just went from taken to single, oops? Goodbye Jason."

"Normani-" the boy tried but was cut off when Normani slammed the door behind her

They were dating for almost 3 years and for a weird reason Normani didn't really feel bad about the break up.

She could hear Lauren's voice echoing in her head, telling her she can do so much better. Lauren has never liked Jason and Normani knew it. The Latina never actually said anything to him but Normani had a feeling he knows too. Hell, three years is a long time.

The same night Normani came back to the apartment, taking all of her things and moving in with Lauren and Ally.

"Lieutenant!" a voice interrupted Normani's little flashaback

"What's up Lauren?"

"A bunch of us are going out tonight, wanna go and grab a drink?"

"Not sure, I have to check with Ally."

"You're so whipped." Lauren joked

When Normani moved in with Lauren and her roommate she didn't expect herself to get so close to the older girl, but somehow she did. And she sure as hell didn't except herself to fall for her, but she did. And when Ally started showing the same kind of feelings Lauren took that as a cue to get lost from the apparent.

"Hey babe, did she say yes?" Dinah asks as she hugs Lauren

"Not yet, she has to check with Ally." Lauren replies and gives Dinah a quick peck on the lips

"Ambulance 57-"

"Duty calls, please come tonight Mani." Dinah said and walked away

Normani nodded and walked into her office, Lauren right behind her.

"Who's coming tonight?" Normani said as she took a seat on her chair

"Dinah and Camila, a few of guys from the shift, Mark and a few guys from his station."

"Ugh, bringing cops to our hang out?"

"Hey, not my fault Mila is dating a detective Mani, so are you in?"

"Sure, let me call Ally real quick?"

Lauren nodded and Normani pulled out her phone.

"Hey babe."

"Hey love, so listen, a few of us are going out tonight to grab a drink, do you wanna come?"

"I've got a little headache."
