Emily's POV:
It was the last day of summer. I couldn't help but groan. School had came back too quick. I slowly sat up and stared into nothingness. I couldn't help but feel a bit happy. I atleast got to see everyone again, and this was going to be my last year. So only one more year of hell! My train of thought was broken, when I received a text message.

Danny: im with pol at his house. wanna come over?

I smile and quickly reply.

Me: yeah, be there in 5 min

I quickly got ready. I threw on a Blink 182 T-shirt and some leggings. I scavenged for my keys, while taking a bite of a granola bar. I walk into the driveway and jump into my car and turn on the ignition.

I rang the doorbell, and waited in silence. "Hey!" "Hi Paul!" I smiled, as I walked in. "Danny's in the basement. I'm making popcorn, we're deciding on what movie to watch." Said Paul. "Cool. I'm going to go down and see Danny." I said, walking downstairs. I see Danny sitting on the floor on his laptop. Probably on Netflix. He still hadn't noticed me, so I decide to be a bit devious. I quietly creep up behind him, so I was just a few inches from him. "HI DANNY!" I yelled, as I hugged him from behind. "OHMY! WHAT THE FUCK!" Danny jumps, flailing his arms. "Ahaha it's me you idiot. Thanks for hitting me in the face by the way." I giggle. "Oh, sorry." Danny blushes. "It's fine. That was my fault." I grin. "So, what movie are we going to watch?" I ask. "I know we watch this all the time... But Fault In Our Stars?" He suggests. "Haha sure. I'll just see you cry for the tenth time, watching the movie." I chuckle. "Shut up!" He laughs. "Got the popcorn! What're we watching?" Paul asked, with a bowl of popcorn in hand. "Fault In Our Stars."

Danny's POV:
Emily quickly jumped onto the couch, cuddling with Yolanda(our stuffed tiger). "Hey, that's my girlfriend!" Paul said, putting down the bowl of popcorn. "Too bad, she likes me more." Emily said, sticking her tongue out at him. "Go cuddle with Danny! Let me cuddle with Yolanda." Paul said. He winked at me.

He knew I liked Emily. I texted him, once she had left. He thinks Emily feels the same way about me, but I seriously doubt it. Why would anyone like me?

"You know what? Fine." She throws Yolanda to Paul. "Come on, Danny. You're cuter than Yolanda, anyways." She said, making a face at Paul. "Don't listen to her, babe." Paul whispered, into the stuffed animal's ear. Emily rolled her eyes and laughed. God, I loved her laugh. "Are you going to sit down or what?" Paul asked. "Oh, um yeah." I said, my cheeks burning bright red.

It was hard to concentrate on the movie with Emile, snuggled up next to me. She had her head rested on my shoulder, and her hands were wrapped around my arm. I could see Paul making faces at me, from the corner of my eye. I ignored him, and looked down at Emily. She looked so beautiful, I couldn't help but smile. Did she know that she was this beautiful?

By the end of the movie, Emily had fallen asleep. She looked so adorable. I moved away from her slowly, setting her head on a pillow. I covered her up with a blanket and walked upstairs with Paul. "When're you going to tell her?" Paul asked, scavenging the kitchen for more food. "Soon..." I lie. "Danny, you've liked her since sophomore year. You've got to tell her eventually, before someone else does." Says Paul. "I know," I sigh. "But what if she doesn't feel the same?" "She probably loves you, as much as you love her." Says Paul. "Thanks." I say, and bring him in for a hug.

"Get a room you two." I turn to see a sleepy-looking Emily standing behind us, laughing. "Jealous?" Asks Paul, with one eyebrow up. "Not at all." She smiles, walking towards us.

*Bzzzt *

"That's my phone," Says Paul, "I gotta go. My mom wants me to take care of my cousin, while she's out. I'll see you guys tomorrow." "Bye." Emily and I wave goodbye to him. We both stand still, in an awkward silence.

Emily's POV:
We both stood there in silence, not moving. I shifted my weight towards my right heel, and sighed. "So, um what do you wanna do?" "Whatever you want to do." He answered. "Hey, could we go to Target? I still haven't got a few school supplies yet." I ask. "Yeah, we'll take my car." Danny says, grabbing his keys.

"Alright lets go to the back-to-school section." I said, as I glided around, pushing the cart. "I just need some new pencils and a notebook, what about you?" I ask, turning towards Danny. "Oh, um, just some pens." He shrugged. I sigh. Danny was never going to notice me. I liked him before he went out with his, now, ex-girlfriend. I remember running into his room in the middle of the night, holding him, while he cried and explained everything. Seeing him hurt, made me want to protect him. But I can't do that. I'm not strong enough... "Hey, you okay?" Danny asks, his hand placed on my shoulder. "Oh, um yeah. Just kind of spaced out. Lets just get these supplies and go."

"I liked her smile." Said Danny, as we walked back to his car, bags in hand. "Who? The cashier?" I ask. "Yeah, she had a nice smile...b-but not as nice as yours." Danny stammered. "Thanks." I blush.

"So, um I'll see you later." I say, as I walk to my car. "Oh, yeah. Wait, do you still want to ride with me and Paul to school?" Danny asks, nervously. "Yeah, of course! Why wouldn't I?" I ask. "I don't know...just thought you might've been getting tired of us...and gonna leave me...I mean Paul and I." "I'm never going to leave you guys," I say, holding his hand, "even when you guys want to be left alone." He smiles at me. I give his hand one more squeeze, before pulling out of the driveway. "Here goes another school year."
