I sighed and turned off the lights of the room that kept reminding me of how lonely I was. Stepping into the dark and cold hallway I looked around for Joseph. I walked upto him and knelt down to face those big green eyes. Just like my Katherine's.

"daddy!" He was beaming as he jumped into my arms. Standing up, I tightened my grip around him.

"Yes dear?"

"I wanna play!"

"Sure son!"

"D-daddy?" He wrapped his arms tighter around my neck, burying his face in my shoulder and started shaking.

"yea?" I was startled by this sudden change.

"shes here again!"

"who?"

"her!" he lifted his head a bit to peer around and then ducked his head back again. "That girl is staring me! She's saying your daddy should go away! Daddy please don't leave me.. Shes scary!"

I whipped around to find nothing but the empty dark corridor.

"ah.. There's nothing over there and who said your daddy is leaving you huh? I'm not, don't you worry boy!" I tried to calm him down.

"there's nothin over there because now she's sitting here laughing at you" he whispered, pointing towards the couch about two feet away from us, on our right. I tightened my grip instinctively around my 3 year old son and turned to our right again to find nothing.

"She says tell your daddy to go away or she'll take me away. Please don't daddy, I don't want to be alone with her!" He started sobbing.

Chills ran down my spine as I looked around.

"ok.. We're fine. Don't cry. Sshh. I'm here! I'm not leaving you son. Stop crying. There's no one here!" I kept my voice steady to calm him down despite the fear that kept invading my thoughts.

She mustn't return!

She can't!

She shouldn't.
