Artemis never understood people all that well. She was a loner, she survived by counting on herself and that is it. If she could control the situation, then she could control the outcome. In the back of her head, she knew that it wasn't a good idea, she had heard enough about it by Luke, her only father figure. Luke, the Frays, and Simon were the only family she had. She never knew her parents, hell she didn't even know what they looked like. She guessed that they were brunettes, considering she had brown hair and green eyes, that's all she guessed about them. Artemis usually was by herself until she met Clary. Clary was her first friend. Artemis had just moved to the city, after failing to comply at another foster home. She was put into another home, one where her foster parents were never home and she was basically by herself, which didn't bother her one bit. Clary had bumped into her freshman year. Artemis was a sophomore but took a liking to her and soon Simon as well. As the years went by, Luke and Jocelyn looked after the girl. They made sure she had food and basically all the love they could give a girl who had put up walls. That is how her life was, she graduated and had just some jobs here and there to help pay for anything she needed. Jocelyn let her stay with them, after Art was kicked out of her last foster home because she turned 18. Artemis didn't know that bumping into Clary her sophomore year would be the beginning of a journey she wasn't ready to go on, yet had to. The journey would test bonds, create new friendships, and above all else, tear down the walls that Artemis had built up in her head so long ago.

So, I took a loooonnnngggg break, sorry about that, but I'm back and I'm going to be making some changes to my books. Hopefully you will still love Artemis and her story!  I'll have a star (*) next to the chapters that I have re published so we know what the new ones are. Thank you all for all the loving comments over the years and I'm sorry it took so long.
