Okay so I know this isn't a poem or story, but these are lyrics to one of my favorite songs I wrote. I really need feedback. Enjoy :)

(Verse One)
These days have been harder to push through
because I no longer have you,
especially now that you've found a new girl
that you treat like the center of your world
while I'm on the back burner
trying to figure out what lessons need to be learned.

(Chorus)
The way you go that extra mile
just to see her brightly smile,
the way you hug her very tight
and treat her like your shining light,
the way she laughs at all your jokes,
it makes my heart choke
'cause I'm not her.

(Verse Two)
Watching you treat that girl like gold,
shatters not only my heart, but my soul.
You left without a second thought
of who we are or what we've got.
It's so hard standing in the shadows all day and night
while she's on center stage with the big spotlight.

(Chorus)
The way you go that extra mile
just to see her brightly smile,
the way you hug her very tight
and treat her like your shining light,
the way she laughs at all your jokes,
it makes my heart choke
'cause I'm not her.

(Bridge)
In order to make myself soar through the sky,
I'll have to spread my wings and fly
higher than the highest clouds
after letting go of the things that weigh me down;
I'll have to pour out my feelings for you
and all our immortal memories too.

(Chorus)
The way you go that extra mile
just to see her brightly smile,
the way you hug her very tight
and treat her like your shining light,
the way she laughs at all your jokes,
it makes my heart choke
'cause I'm not her.
I'm not her...
