                  A Life Taken Too Soon

Lost in a sea of darkness,

With no path that leads out.

A heart bursting with emptiness,

And drowning in a river of doubt.

A little tiny life that was growing,

Protected from a world so cruel.

Then a cold wind started blowing,

Taking with it a very special jewel.

The feeling of holding you,

And never letting you go.

Something I really wish I could do,

Is something I will never know.

All I want is to see your face,

But I did not get that choice.

Dreaming of your sweet embrace,

And hearing your lovely voice.

Now you are the brightest star,

An angel with wings of light.

I was left wandering from afar,

Waiting for the day to reunite.

I hope you know that I loved you,

And I did not want you to leave.

The pain is real that much is true,

And I am left here alone to grieve.

On December 30, 2015 I found out that my baby died in my womb. I am struggling to accept this and I was able to write this poem about my feelings!
