"Violet, when will you see that he is wrong for you?" Liam asked me as I stared emptily into the dark, star filled sky above us.

"I don't know, maybe never. It's possible you are wrong, you know. Alec could be right for me," I responded stubbornly.

Liam sighed. In the silence of the night, I could easily hear him shifting his body around as he tried to find a comfortable spot on the solid earth.

"Say I am right though, what would you do?" he asked, just like he always does.

"I would patch up the hole in my heart and move on to the next love of my life," I say confidently. "I have loved a thousand times, each time a little different than the last. But I still believe in love and I know that love is out there for me. I know it."

Liam sighed again and mumbled something quietly under his breath. I caught the tone of sadness in his voice but did not recognize the words of which he mumbled. I was too focused on the shooting star over head, wishing that someday, I would find the one who was right for me.
