Dialogue

"How's the burger?"

"Fine."

"But you haven't taken a bite of it?"

"I'm not that hungry."

"Well you have to finish it all. I thought you said you wanted it?"

"Well... Momma doesn't like me eating it anymore."

"We'll just keep this between us. So... How's school been?"

"Good."

"Have you made any new friends?"

"Yeah. This kid in my class named Jamal. He likes to skateboard."

"Skateboard huh? That's good. That's really good. See I told you being the new kid wasn't so bad."

"But why can't I go back to my old school?"

"No one can take you all the way back there since your mother decided to move you."

"Then why can't I live with you then?"

"...Lamar. You know you have to live with your mother?"

"I know."

"I'm sorry it has to be like this. But it's better if you live with her.

"Okay. Are you ever coming back?"

"Coming back? Boy, who told you I'm leavin. You can always come to me if you need anything. You know that right?"

"I know."

"...Ok. Finish up. We have to get the theater before the movie starts!"

"Waif!.I haf wah muh bife."

"Damn boy! Don't stuff all that in your mouth! I can't take you to the hospital."

"Done! And you thought I can't."

"Well you always had a big mouth on you, boy."

"That's going to be my superhero's name."

"What?"

"Big Mouth Boy! He has a gut of steal but a heart of gold."

"What you...Oh yeah. You still want to make comic books"

"Hell's yeah! That's why we're going to see Man of Steel. So I can research."

"Boy! Where did you pick up language like that?"

"From Marcus."

"Oh right, Marcus... You shouldn't be doing what he does anyway."

"When is Marcus coming back anyway?"

"In the spring. The army has whipped him more into shape than I ever could."

"He still sends me cool stuff in the mail."

"I'm sure he does. C'mon we have to run now. It starts in five minutes!"

"Bet I can beat you there."

"Against a full grown man like me? Alright let's see what you can do little man."
