One Shot: Forever

The big wooden doors opened in front of Dakota as the music started playing. She took a cautious step forward, careful to not trip in the high heels the twins told her to wear.

Every pair of eyes in the room were settled on her. They were settled on her brown hair curled and put up in a bun, her floor length veil cascaded around her. The white jeweled bodice hugged her waist and the dress flowed out at her hips. The front had a sweetheart neckline and showed off just enough to tease Ty.

            She felt like a princess.

Of course, the twins had loved it and told her to get it. Kota had pretended to hate it, but she knew this was the dress she wanted to walk down the aisle with. She knew Ty’s expression was going to be equivalent to the day she bought that soft lavender dress.

And it was. Ty’s lips were slightly parted, his green eyes widened as she walked down with her father beside her. She looked absolutely stunning.

The twins, standing beside the alter with their lavender bridesmaid dresses, had tears in their eyes. However, her eyes were only locked on Ty’s. His eyes were shinny as he took in her appearance again.

She reached the alter and kissed her father’s cheek. He put her hand into her soon-to-be-husband’s hand and returned to his seat. Ty pulled her to stand next to him and leaned in close to whisper in her ear.

            “You look beautiful, Kota-bear.”

The minister started the ceremony, but Dakota could barely hear him start his long rant about forever. They already knew they were going to be together for the rest of their lives and every day after that.

They were lost in each other’s eyes as it was time to say the vows. Tyler started first, trying not to cry.

“I, Tyler,” his voice was thick with held back tears as he started his vows that he had memorized, “take you, Dakota, to be my lawfully wedded wife. To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part and every day after.”

Dakota, on the other hand, didn’t attempted to mask her tears as Tyler had said his vows.

“I, Dakota,” her voice shook as Ty wiped a fallen tear with his thumb, “take you, Tyler, to be my lawfully wedded husband. To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part and every day after.”

Tyler let out a deep breath and held up her wedding band. “I give you this ring as symbol of my love and faithfulness. As I place it on your finger, I commit my heart and soul to you. I ask you to wear this ring as a reminder of the vows we have made today, our wedding day.”

He slide on her left ring finger with a smile. She smiled back and held up his wedding band. “I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness. As I place it on your finger, I commit my heart and soul to you. I ask you to wear this ring as a reminder of the vows we have made today, our wedding day.”

The minister grinned. “With the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride!”

Ty grinned and dipped Dakota, bringing his lips down to hers. They kissed as if no one was watching and they were the only two people on earth. He pulled her back up and put his hand on her waist as they broke apart.

“I now present to you for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson!”

Ty picked her up bridle style and carried her out to the limo. They both sat in the limo, incredibly in love as the driver drove them to their reception.

After pictures and congratulations, they entered the reception hall with cheering and whistles. They kissed once again and made their way to the head table. Ty sat beside Damien and Dakota as she sat beside Ty and Carrie.

After dinner, they wanted to start off the evening with their first dance as husband and wife. As their wedding song blasted through the speakers, they swayed back and forth.

She felt like she was fourteen again, dancing with a sixteen year old Ty. She placed her head on his chest and they danced to the song. He kissed her forehead as they held each other as they slowly swayed.

In this moment she knew in her heart that he was her’s. She knew he always was and always will be her forever.

He leaned down and whispered in her ear. “I love you, Kota.”

“I love you, too, Ty. Forever.”

            “Forever.”
