Her name was Josephine Cartwright. The most beautiful girl ever at my high school. I remember I would just stare at her like a creep. My gigantic glasses, wired braces and acne covered face did not help my situation. Her friends would laugh, point fingers and gossip about me every time I stared. But that didn't scare me nor embarrass me. What really scared me was when Josephine's boyfriend caught me. He was in every sport he could possibly be in. I knew he could beat me up, he has many times. He had broken my glasses multiple times, ripped my braces straight from my teeth and almost made me loose my vision even more when he gave me the worst black eye. I knew he could kill me, if he ever got the chance.
I would dream about Josephine every night. I would pray to God that some miracle would happen so that Josephine and I could be together. Oh but I wasn't the goody two-shoes, Christian nerd that everyone thought I was. I was still a teenager flooding with hormones. Yes, I even jerked off thinking about Josephine. Okay, this is getting a little too personal. I should of kept that one to myself.
Though, yes, I was a nerd no doubt. But boy let me tell you there are huge benefits to being a nerd. When I graduated high school I was the valedictorian. I got so many scholarships to the best colleges out there. I was accepted in to Harvard and Yale but I had my heart set on Stanford, so that's where I went. I went on to get my doctorates degree in juridical science. When I graduated from college I went on to be a lawyer. I made great money. I could afford a very nice house in New York, nice cars and I could travel. I had gotten rid of my glasses and began wearing contacts. My braces had been taken out years before. I finally had perfectly straight teeth. I had grown out of puberty and began washing my face extra good and soon enough my face was clear of acne. I was the new and improved Otis Bennett.
