Do I want a pirate's life for me?
Do I dream to sail away for thee?
Shall I man the guns when banners rise,
Shall I light the fuse into his eyes,
Shall I stand victorious as I'll be?

Win the treasures of the seven seas,
Map the world from end to end with ease,
Find true love and keep her at my side,
Set her safe as waves I set to ride,
Carry me to fortunes as I please.

There are storms they leave out in the books.
Cracking flesh, or gangrene by the looks,
Storm my eyes like men from privateers,
Swords to slice the others by the ears,
Deck a harvest table for the rooks.

The sand they say enchant the life of thee,
It stings my feet, and eats at great degree.
Shall I see you once more, from this island,
Behind the wreck of ship that I once manned,
Do I regret the pirate's life for me?
