Prologue:

My brush whipped furiously across the page as I tried to forget the chaos that was around me. My long black sleeves were pulled back to my elbows and paint splattered my hands in an array of blue, blacks, whites, and reds. I was focused, nobody could interrupt me in my goal. The room that was my studio, was in a state of destruction. Papers and sketches were thrown in various places, forgotten, and a spare blanket was left in the corner for, if ever, I decided to sleep. I haven't left the room for days and  the food that was brought to me still lay outside the door, cold and half eaten by the rats that have sneaked into my dark abyss.

The days passed and my friends and family would try to bribe me with promises, so that I would emerge, hopefully no worse for wear.

Monday:

"Isabel please? You must come out."

I did not respond.

Tuesday:

"Isabel a guest is here to see you...Can you come out for a minute?"

No response.

Wednesday:

"Isabel! Come out!"

Again I did not respond

Thursday:

"Isabel, it is time for the funeral. Won't you come out for this at least?"

My brush stuttered in its furious path

Authors Note:

Hello my lovely readers,

This is the prologue of my new story The Painting. Enjoy! Also don't forget to check out Lady Josephine: Armed and ready to kill! It is still unedited, but I am painstakingly working through it.

The Storyline-

Isabel was an art student, whose painting talent was something that many would argue was greater than Van Gohs'. With a bright future ahead of her she met the always eccentric, Jason, who was an amazing poet in his own right. They fell in love and were, within days of meeting, dating. Weeks became months and months became two years...Isabel and Jason were world-renowned at the age of 21 for there various skills. However, on February 16 Jason passed away after secretly battling brain cancer for 4 years. Dragged into depression Isabel spends her days painting and never lets anyone see her work replying, "It isn't finished yet." Five years after his death she now lives in a secluded cabin still trying to finish the painting, but never actually succeding. Her friends and family have even deserted her believing Isabel to be lost in her depression. One day her secluded life is shaken when a young man bursts through her door and suddenly collapses. What will happen now?
