Since the battle in Egypt in 1983, and the school blowing up yet again, Charles Xavier and Hank McCoy have worked to rebuild the school and find more youngsters with special talents and abilities outside of the general criteria for humans. 

Since then he, Mystique, and a girl named Waverly have been searching for children around the world and found dozens of children, including you.
