Dark grey clouds covered the sky as a gust of wind picked up different colored leaves and carried them away outside a small home window. Inside the home, a young male teen about seventeen years old was blow drying his grey-black, shoulder-length hair with a towel wrapped around his waist. He turned the electronic off and looked at himself in the mirror, piercing dark-green eyes looking back at him with a nervous expression written on his face.

The teen took a deep breath in and went to his drawer to get out a pair of boxers and a pair of socks. He dropped the towel from his waist and slid on the fresh pair of boxers he picked out. He went to his closet and picked out a pair of faded, black skinny jeans and a plain white V-neck shirt. He got dressed and looked at himself once more in a small dresser mirror. It's missing something...but what? Dammit, I'm going to look bad in front of him!

There was a knock on the teen's door. "Chester, it's Keith. Are you decent?" his brother asked. Chester let out a sigh. "Come in!" he replied, going back to his closet. A teen about sixteen years old opened the door. He was a little shorter than Chester, but he looked different than his brother. Keith had short, dark-brown hair that was shaved on both sides and his eyes were a dark-green with a hint of blue in them.

Keith chuckled at how frantic his brother was acting. "Chester, chill. Do you need help with anything?" he asked. Chester turned around with two plaid flannels. One was a red and black plaid and the other was a teal plaid, but it had a hood. "I can't decide which one of these I should go with. What goes better with this outfit?" Chester replied. Keith gave those two a good look over. "They both go with that outfit, but the red and black plaid just looks more you. I'd go with that one."

Chester nodded and threw the teal flannel back in his closet and slid the chosen flannel on, folding the collar down. He rolled the sleeves up and looked through his drawers to find a pair of skeleton-hand gloves. He slid those on and gave himself a once over. "Chester, you look nice. Quinn isn't going to care." Keith stated. Chester sighed. "Quinn might not, but I do. He's the only person in my life that has ever truly put a smile on my face."

Keith frowned as his brother brushed through his hair. Chester freshened up and grabbed his wallet, slipping the hook through one of his belt loops and locking it. "If Mom and Dad ask where I am-" "Band practice," Keith interrupted, "Yeah, I know... You shouldn't try to hide who you are from them. I'm sure they'd accept you for being gay if it truly made you happy..." Chester looked down. "You don't understand... Never mind... I'll see you later, okay?"

Before Keith could reply, Chester walked past his brother and out of his room. He looked around for his parents to see if the coast was clear. When he was sure he wouldn't get stopped, Chester grabbed his keys and walked out the door. He looked at his beautiful '64 Silver Cadillac Deville Convertible and smiled slightly. This car was really a great surprise from my parents. I wish I'd stayed in the closet with them... Then things wouldn't be as bad as they are.

Chester got in his car and started it, hearing the roar of his engine. He heard his phone buzz and pulled it out, seeing that he had a text from Quinn.

Q: hey man. Uh, I don't know if you've left yet, but my parents just texted me saying they were going to be late. Would you be okay with picking me up?

Chester smiled and snickered. He texted back, a grin still plastered on his face.

C: yeah man :) I'm on my way.

Chester put his phone in the cup holders and drove off to Quinn's. The drive made him think. This is only a test date, right? We're not official or anything...at least I don't think we are... His parents know we're thinking about dating though and mine don't, but they know I'm gay. Should I tell them about Quinn? I just don't want them hating me more than they already do...

Chester parked outside of Quinn's house and texted him. I really want this to work out. Please God, let this work out... A few moments later he saw Quinn walk out and his breathing hitched. Quinn was a seventeen year old male with ginger, half-shaved hair and sparkling deep-blue eyes. He was wearing a solid black V-neck shirt with a grey flannel and a pair of ripped, blue skinny jeans with black high-top Vans.

Chester gulped and looked away as Quinn got in the car. "Dude, I still can't get over how awesome your car is!" Quinn exclaimed, shutting the door. Chester rolled his eyes, but a smile found its way to his face. "You hungry?" Chester asked. Quinn's stomach growled and the ginger laughed. "Does that answer your question?" Quinn answered. Chester laughed and drove off.

The teen parked the Cadillac and the two got out. "You never told me where we were going. You just gave me an address." Quinn said as they walked to the crosswalk in front of the restaurant. Chester smirked and pointed, causing Quinn to look. His eyes widen. "Creekside Sushi? How'd you know I love sushi?" Quinn asked, looking back at Chester. The teen gave his date a smile. "I listen. Plus, I love sushi as well, so it's perfect."

The two cross the street and walk inside the restaurant. "Table for two." Chester told the front lady. She smiled and grabbed two menus. "Right this way." The two were seated at a booth and they looked through the menu. "Are we getting separate bills?" Quinn asked, making Chester look up. "No. I'm paying for both of us, so get what you want." he replied with a smile. Quinn returned it and looked back down at his menu.

A waiter walked up to the table. "Hello and welcome to Creekside sushi. Can I get you two started with a drink?" he asked. Chester looked up. "Water please." Quinn ordered the same. "I'll be right back with those drinks." The waiter said with a smile and walked away. "So I guess sushi is one thing we have in common." Quinn stated. Chester looked up and smirked. "Don't forget our band and our passion for music." Quinn chuckled. "That's three things."

The waiter came back and set the drinks down. "Are you two ready to order?" he asked. Chester and Quinn nod. "I'll take two Salmon rolls." Chester said and closed the menu. "I'll take a California roll." Quinn said and closed his menu as well. The waiter took the menus from them. "I'll go put in your order." he said and walked away.

Quinn looked up at Chester and smiled. "You look nice." he said. Chester looked up and a blush rose to his cheeks. "You do as well. I guess we both had the same idea for Flannels." he chuckled nervously. Quinn snickered. "You have nothing to be nervous about. I've already made up my mind." Quinn spoke and reached across the table to grab Chester's hand. Chester's eyes widen, but his shock fades into a smile and he interlaced their fingers. "I've made up my mind as well."

The two ate in a comfortable silence. Another waiter came by and took their empty plates. "Want dessert?" Quinn asked. Chester smirked. "I have another surprise for you and it involves dessert." he replied. Quinn's heart raced and his eyes widen. Chester blushed. "Oh god! Get your mind out of the gutter man! It's not that." Their waiter came back. "Can I get you two anything else?" he asked. "Just the check please." Chester said.

The two walked out of the restaurant and Quinn stopped Chester. "I know it's not over yet, but this has been really fun." Quinn said and grabbed Chester's hands. Chester looked up and Quinn leaned in, his lips meeting Chester's. His dark-green eyes widen, but they close and he kisses back. The two pulled away and looked at each other. Chester smiled. "Will you be my boyfriend?" he asked. Quinn laughed. "You don't have to ask." he replied and kissed Chester once more.

The teen chuckled and pulled away. "Come on. We need to go before the dessert goes bad." Chester said and waited for the crosswalk to change. He began to cross when it was their right of way. A cherry-red Ford Truck drove through its red light and drifted from lane to lane. Quinn was about to follow when he saw this. His eyes widen and he looked at Chester, who was right in the way. "Chester, look out!" Quinn yelled.

Chester looked up just in time for the truck to slam into his torso. The impact forced him down to the ground where his head slammed against the road and he fell unconscious. Quinn stared in horror as the truck kept driving, leaving Chester on the ground. There were horrified gasps and Quinn ran over to him, pushing past a small crowd. "Chester! Chester, answer me!" he cried, falling to his knees beside the unconscious teen.

He looked around, tears falling from his eyes. "Someone call 911! Please!" Quinn cried. He saw a few adults pull their cell phone out and a few minutes later, he heard ambulance sirens. He lifted Chester's limp body in his arms and broke down. The ambulances arrived and Quinn looked down at Chester. "Y-you're going to be o-okay... You j-just have to be..."
