But you know who it didn't "reek" of? James Gordan. And that was a problem. Because Oswald loves the way Jim smells- his manly cologne. He also loves all his suits that he owns. His ties, his hair, his eyes, his lips, his hips, his abs, and even his- never mind. That got a little serious fast.
So, he decided to fix that. He was inviting Jim over to his night club. If he said no, the solution was hidden in plain sight; drug him. Now, he didn't want to, but he loves his little Jim baby, and he had to have him.
Only two hours later, Oswald had Jim a little tipsy, and he was stuttering and stumbling over a little. One time Oswald had to catch him. Oswald put extra alcohol in Jim's drink, if he were being completely honest.
