At my school, there was the typical cliques. The populars, the geeks, the nerds, the talented and the jocks.

My brother was a jock, he plays soccer on our high schools team.
My brother, River, was popular along with being a jock. I, Rain, do not have a label written over my head. I am my own person, that's why this year, my senior year, will be memorable to not only me, but my whole school.

The first day of school is tomorrow and I am going to own it. Not only will I stick up to the 'queen bee' but I will also talk to my crush, hopefully, without being a stuttering mess.

I smiled at the thought of the first day of school tomorrow, which kind of scares me, considering I hate, no despise, school.

I wonder if mom will give me a bagged lunch or give me money, I can get piz-

"Rain, the guys are coming over, so don't get in our way." There he is. My brother, River, was standing in the arch of my doorway.

I look at him and roll my eyes, "If I wanted to get in your way, I would've had ages ago." I comment.

The doorbell goes off, a second before River was going to tell me something. Probably a sarcastic remark, well at least knowing him.
River looked behind him, then back at me.

Groaning, he backs away from my doorway, charging towards the stairs. Hearing the cheers and yells from downstairs, I could easily tell the crowd wasn't all boys.

Sighing, I looked down at my knees.

There's something different about him now. He wasn't like this when I knew him...
